Emergency supplies

Always have emergency supplies on hand. The supplies

should include:

•emergency contact phone numbers

•medical ID (bracelet, etc.)

•blood glucose monitoring supplies

•urine ketone test strips

•glucose tablets, glucose gel or other source of fast-act-

ing glucose (juice or hard candy)

•injectable short-acting insulin

•syringe(s) and needle(s), or an insulin pen

•wipes/swabs (I.V. Prep

, isopropyl alcohol, Betadine

Hibiclens

, etc.)

•dressing and tape

•spare alkaline AAA (IEC LR03) batteries

•spare Deltec cartridge(s) and infusion set(s)

As always, discuss with your healthcare provider any spe-

cial supplies you might need in your emergency kit.
