Infusion Set and/or Access Site problems :

Problem Corrective Action

Poor insulin absorption Check access site for lumps,

scarring or bruising

(hypertrophied areas). Move the

access site, if necessary.

Access site red, itchy, Deliver a Correction bolus to

irritated; bumps or lower your BG level. Move the

nodules at site access site, if necessary.

Air bubbles in Make sure all connections are

cartridge/infusion tight and not leaking (wrap tissue

set or leaks at around connectors to check for

connections moisture). Look for air bubbles in

cartridge and infusion set.

Disconnect infusion set from your

body and use the Fill tubing

feature to remove large air

bubbles, if needed.

Kinked tubing Inspect entire length of infusion

set for kinks, including the safety

loop. Make sure your clothing

and/or pump pouch are not

pinching/restricting tubing.

Change infusion set, if required.

Problem Corrective Action

Needle/cannula If needle/cannula is dislodged,

dislodged change infusion set and access

site.
